Who is responsible

MotoTiming is operated by Oliver Whysall, 25 Thomas Road, Kegworth, Derbyshire DE74 2DY, United Kingdom. For privacy requests, email data@mototiming.com. For orders and other support, email info@mototiming.com.

What we use and why

• App and web access: an installation or web access identifier, access code, subscription status, and technical security information. We use these to provide your requested service, recognise Pro access and prevent misuse. Our lawful bases are contract and legitimate interests in service security.
• Optional alerts: Expo or browser push token, platform, timezone, device name, app version, notification choices and favourite riders. We use these to send the alerts you request. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings or your browser.
• Purchases: billing email, transaction and subscription identifiers, payment status, and, for merchandise, your name, delivery address, optional phone number, order contents and delivery method. We use these to take payment, provide access or fulfil orders, handle returns and meet accounting obligations. Our lawful bases are contract and legal obligation.
• Contact: your name, email address and message when you ask for help. We use these to reply and resolve the issue under our legitimate interests in customer support.
• Optional analytics: if you choose to allow analytics, the websites may record page views, interactions, referrer and campaign information, and the app may record feature use and diagnostics. We use this to improve MotoTiming based on consent. Analytics is off until you enable it.

Who receives data

We use RevenueCat for subscriptions and access, Apple and Google for purchases made in their stores, Stripe for website and merchandise payments, Printful for merchandise production and delivery, Expo and browser push services for alerts, AhaSend for contact messages, and OpenPanel and PostHog for analytics where enabled. Our hosting and database providers also process the information needed to run the service. We do not receive your full payment card number or sell your personal information.

International processing

Some service providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where a restricted transfer requires a safeguard, we use an applicable UK adequacy regulation or contractual safeguards under the provider’s data protection terms. How long we keep information

Disabling push alerts removes the token and linked alert choices from our push database. Unused push registrations are removed after 12 months. We remove abandoned merchandise checkout records after 30 days and retain completed order records for up to seven years for accounting, returns and disputes, unless a legal claim requires longer. Contact correspondence is reviewed and removed when no longer needed to handle your request. Subscription and analytics information held by our providers follows their relevant retention settings; contact us if you want details or deletion of identifiable information.

Your rights and choices

You may ask to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, or object to its use. You may ask for a portable copy where applicable. You can withdraw consent for alerts in app Settings or your browser, and for analytics using the Privacy settings button on the websites or the analytics switch in the app. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful use. Some accounting records cannot be erased immediately where the law requires us to keep them.

Email data@mototiming.com to make a request. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

MotoTiming does not ask for a child’s name or age to use the timing features. If we learn that a child has sent us personal information that is not needed to provide the service, we will remove it. Parents or carers may contact data@mototiming.com about a child’s data.
